Stories from the building site
A video series in which the people who build tell the story: project managers, site foremen, architects and investors

From the outside, a building site is a fence, a crane and, in the end, a new building. Everything in between stays hidden: the decisions, the dilemmas, the trust between people and a thousand small solutions. Yet that is exactly where a good construction company stands apart.
Since 2021 we have made a series of video stories from the building sites of the construction company Tosidos. Instead of an advert, we turned the camera to the people who manage and build the projects, and to those who work with them: architects, design engineers and investors.
In numbers
- 14
- Video stories about residential, commercial, industrial and hospitality projects.
- 52
- Minutes of first-hand accounts, from the building site to the design office.
- 15

- 5
- Years of filming, from the Hotel Bohinj renovation in 2021 to 2025.
01The format: one statement, then the story
Each video opens with one punchy statement and the project's key numbers as graphics. Then the experts who delivered the project take over: site managers, engineers, architects and investors. They talk about concrete dilemmas, not general virtues: whether to renovate a building or demolish it, how to fit modern architecture into an existing structure, how to combine production and warehousing under one roof while keeping it fire safe.
The result is a series that shows viewers how the company works, not just what it has built.
What the series stands on
-
01
People, not an advert
The people who managed and built the project do the talking. No actors and no memorised script.
-
02
Dilemmas, not praise
Each story opens a concrete challenge and shows how it was solved.
-
03
Several views of one project
The project manager, the architect and the investor each see the same building from their side.
-
04
One series, many uses
The videos live on the website next to the reference projects, on social media and in sales conversations.
02Hotel Bohinj: a renovation you don't notice
Hotel Bohinj, on a hill above Ribčev Laz, was fully renovated and structurally and energy retrofitted in seven months. A project like this always raises the question of whether to renovate an existing building or demolish it, and how to fit modern architecture into an existing structure. So we told the story from four sides: the project manager, the architect from OFIS arhitekti, the investor and the operator's representative. More about the project: Hotel Bohinj on tosidos.si (in Slovenian).
»If nobody notices anything, we've done our job.«
Žiga Domadenik, project manager, Tosidos
03Masarykova Residence: trust on the building site
The Masarykova Residence in central Ljubljana combines 81 apartments with commercial space. On a building site this large in the city, a hundred things are decided every day, so this is a story about the people who run it and the trust between them. More about the project: Masarykova Residence on tosidos.si (in Slovenian).
»The most important thing is that the site management trust each other.«
Gašper Rankel and Rok Strušnik, Tosidos
04Production, warehouse and shop under one roof
For the Blažič building, production and warehousing had to work together while meeting fire safety requirements. The site manager and the project manager talk about it, and the design engineer adds his view. Uni & Forma got a commercial and warehouse building with a shop, and its owners explain why the company had outgrown its old premises in Komenda and Trzin.
»The challenge in designing production buildings is that they have to work for people as well as for machines.«
Ferdinand Pregrad, CSE Projekt
05Intergenerational centre in Bled
In Bled, two buildings with sheltered rental apartments, a shared basement and a wooden facade were built. The story is told by the foreman who ran the site every day.
Idriz Čohodar, site foreman
If the foreman is organised, the workers will be organised too.
06First-hand expertise
Part of the series is not tied to one project but to the craft: when concrete and steel are the right choice, what reinforced concrete can do and how partners work together on a build. Videos like these show that behind the company name are people who understand their work and can explain it.
07The result: the image of a young, agile and reliable partner
The series strengthened Tosidos's image as a young, agile and reliable construction partner. The videos became the central content of the company's renewed website, where each one is linked to its reference project. You can watch the whole series on the Video stories page at tosidos.si (in Slovenian).
